Close Call...35 week update

This last week I had a checkup with my Midwife on Thursday ( 35 weeks and 1 day). At my appointment I expressed my concern that I was not sure that baby was head down because of how much movement I feel down low, and the hard lump I feel up in my ribs so often. She decided to do an internal exam to try and feel the baby's head, and when she did, she was still not sure if it was his head or not, so she decide to send me in for a quick sono to make sure he was head down. Sure enough he was, apparently that is his butt I'm feeling in my ribs, and he likes to move his hands just as much as he does his feet :) When Sherry my midwife was done with my exam she said that my cervix ( although nice and closed) started to bleed a little from the exam, but not to worry because that was normal. I left my appointment excited that I had new sono pics to show Nick and my family.
I had been running errands all morning, but was still not quite done so I headed to the grocery store. I had quite a lot to get so I was walking around for a long time, and when I got home finally I had a lot to carry in all by myself ( Nick was at work, and I was meeting him there for band practice in an hour) I got everything inside, ate a quick bite ( which I had not eating since about 9 am and it was now 4:30, which was also a big mistake) and headed to band practice. I noticed while I was walking around shopping that I was getting kind crampy, but I kinda assumed that it was just from the exam. I finally got home for the night about 8pm and headed to bed not long after that. Friday morning I woke up feeling CRAPY! I was VERY crampy, and I had some pretty serious stabbing like pains in my lower abdomen, but I figured it would pass so I headed to work. I was training my maternity leave replacement all morning and was miserable all morning. My stomach felt heavier then it ever had, and my cramps were getting worse and felt more intense every 10 min or so. I finally gave into the pain, and told my boss I was heading home. I decided to call my Dr office on my way and see what they thought I should do as the pain was getting pretty intense. They told me I should head to the Hospital and get monitored, so I stopped home, fed the dog, grabbed the Hospital bag ( just in case lol) and headed over there.
I was asked to leave a urine sample, and when I finished going and looked in the little cup I was quite shocked! It was full of blood, but when I wiped there was no blood so I was worried it was not just from the spotting that had started yesterday as a result of the internal exam. The nurse came in and hooked me up to the contraction monitor, and I got comfortable because I knew I would be there for a while. They tested my urine, and determined that the blood mixed in was just from the spotting from my exam. But they did find some proteins in the urine also, and when they check my blood pressure it was on the high end of normal so they decided to do a blood test for preeclampsia. I sat for hours having contractions, but nothing that was getting any worse or closer together, so after my blood test came back clear, and to more internal exams revealed that I was not dilating they decided to let me go home, and told me to rest.
Nick and I were supposed to be leaving the next afternoon for southern Springfield ( 2hrs away) for a gig with the band, but my Dr decided that was not the best idea, and so the rest of the band ended up going without us and making due. We ended up spending most of the weekend just relaxing and it was very nice. My mom came over Saturday because my dad was working at the home-show here in Peoria so she just road along with him, and spent the day with me. We sat around my house all morning and then ventured out for a couple hours to get lunch and stop by a friends art exhibit. After some more resting at home, we met up with my dad, Nick, and Dusty and Megan for some dinner. Sunday I stayed home all day while Nick ran sound at church, and then went to Crossfit to work out. Sunday night we went to Dusty and Megan's house and had dinner.
I am feeling much better today, and I think what it all boils down to is needing to relax more. I have to realize that if I want this baby to cook a little longer, I can't do everything by myself. I think Thursday I just over did it with all my errand running, and then carrying in heavy groceries. I need to remember to take it easy and put my feel up a little more often :)

34 Weeks, only 6 weeks left!!!!

34 Weeks, and only 6 left to go! It seems so crazy how close I'm getting, and to be honest, I kind of happy I'm getting so close. I have really started to get more uncomfortable, and the other night I only got 3 hours of sleep because I was up most of the night with really bad acid reflux. I have good days and bad days to, so it's not all bad. I have my second shower this weekend and I am super excited! I can't wait to see what kind of stuff baby Evans gets. We also have our maternity pictures on saturday, which I am looking forward to a lot. I got Nick a shirt for Valentines day that says new dad 2011, and I got a matching one for Isabel that says big sister 2011, so I am hoping to talk Nick into wearing it for a few of the pictures, and maybe even bringing Isabel and her shirt. Well thats all for now, here are my bump pics this week!

Heart Palpitations :(

So I have had some nasty heart palpitations in the last month, and my midwife Jennifer decided that I should go see a cardiologist, so today I had my appointment with Dr. Shay ( a funny little asian guy with VERY broken english) They hooked me up to a 24hr heart monitor that I have to wear until tomorrow afternoon, and then next week I will go back for some blood work and a sonogram of my heart. Dr. Shay didn't sound to concerned, so I am not to worried about it. I have had heart palpitations since I was in 8th grade on and off, but being pregnant they have felt worse so I thought it is better to be safe than sorry and get things check out. Here is a pic of me all attached to my monitor...NOT very comfortable, but then again, what is comfortable anymore lol.

33 Weeks!

Snow Day Nesting

They are calling it many different names...Snowmageddon, Snowtorious B.I.G., or Snowlocaust, take your pick, all I know is Nick and I ended up with 2 snow days so we got some work done on the baby's room!
Nick finished painting when he got off work early today. Then while he relaxed and played some video games, I went to work organizing the room and all the stuff I got from the shower. I still don't have my changing table/dresser, so things are not quite all put away, and the room is not completely finished, but it is definitely a good start! Here are some pics of what is done so far...
