Charlie learned a new trick!
Charlie while playing in his mat last night discovered that he could make the songs change if he kicked at it hard enough!

Charlie 3 Months!
It is so fun to see everyday how Charlie is growing and changing. He is getting much better at nap times during the day. I can actually set him in his swing or crib for naps, and he will sleep for up to an hour! He is still sleeping really well at night, usually between 7-9 hours. He is getting better at rolling from his tummy to his back, and finally did it in front of daddy the other day!
Charlie experienced his first 4th of july, and boy of boy was is a VERY busy weekend, but we had tons of fun. Charlie saw his first fireworks on Friday the 1st when we went over to Lakeside in bloomington and watched their fireworks with my parents. Charlie and I had spent the whole day with my mom at the garage sale she was having. It was soooo much fun seeing and talking to all the different people that came in, and just hanging out with my mom all day. Charlie was a big hit at the garage sale with all the shopper, and an even bigger hit when we went to Lakeside for the fireworks. Everyone wanted to hold him, they were all calling him "baby Elble" I guess my dad must talk about him all the time with his golf buddies, so everyone there knew all about Charlie. I was worried that the fireworks would scare Charlie, but as soon as they started his eyes were glued to the sky, I think he actually kind of liked them!
On the 2nd we went to the beach in germantown with Dusty, Megan, and Kamden. It was crazy hot that day ( heat index was 109!) so we stayed in the shade most of the day. Dusty got a Ranger so we all took turns going for rides, then we all went over to Megan's parents house for a cookout. It was a super HOT but super fun day! I forgot the camera so I didn't get any pictures that day :(
Sunday the 3rd was the annual Carter Family 4th of July party. Every year some family friends of ours have a big hog roast, pot luck, and then shoot off a few fireworks when it gets dark. There were a ton of kids there this year, and I can't wait until next year when Charlie will be running around having fun with all of them!
Monday the 4th Nick and I did a little yard work, and relaxed with Charlie most of the day. Then we met up with our friend Bobby and went to the big Peoria Fireworks show! It was the biggest one in Illinois this year, and it was AMAZING!!!!! It was really crowded so the only good spot we could find happened to be right next to the radio stations HUGE speakers. Charlie liked the fireworks, but was not so fond of the really loud music. I wrapped him up in a blanket and held his ears and he actually ended up falling asleep despite the crazy loud music and fireworks.
The 5th Charlie and I drove to lake bloomington to have a little cookout with my girlfriends at Abby's house. It was Alana's last day in town so it was nice to get to see her again before she left, and I know she was glad to see Charlie again. It was also Charlie's first smores experience, I'm sure he was jealous that he couldn't eat them, but he got to help me roast the marshmallows!
We went with a bunch of our friends on the 6th to Charlie's first Chief's game. None of the kids are really old enough to enjoy a baseball game yet, but it was sill fun, and I think we were all paying more attention to the kids then the game.
Yesterday I through one of my best friends a bridal shower, and it turned out really nice. Charlie and Nick stayed at my parents house during the shower, and unfortunately Charlie was being grumpus for daddy, and cried a lot while I was gone. After the shower Nick, Charlie, and my dad met my mom and I over at lakeside for a little dip in the pool. Charlie swam a little, but got tired so he just took a nap on the side of the pool most the time.
It's crazy that Charlie is already 3 months old, I am having such a blast being his mommy, and watching him grow. I can't wait to see what this next month brings! Here are a few of his 3 month pictures...
