40 weeks!!! I can't believe I've been pregnant for 10 months...
Well tomorrow is my due date, and I can't believe that I have made it. NO ONE thought I would make it to my due date, including myself. It's been a pretty smooth ride so far, a few bumps in the road here and there, but I can't complain to much about the pregnancy as a whole. I CAN complain about the last few weeks though, I am soooooo tired of being pregnant, it is soo hard on my body, my feet hurt all the time, even though I'm not even on them most of the time, my stomach feels like it is stretched to it's max, and every time the baby has a big movement or pushes out a lot it makes me cringe. My swelling has been down since I've been on bed rest, which is a good thing, but today my legs and feet are pretty swollen again, and while walking to my car to go get my hair done I tripped because my stupid feet are to swollen to fit in my shoes right. I ended up falling and landing on my hands and knees (best case scenario for the baby because I didn't hit my belly or my butt at all) so I got some nice scrapes on both knees and will probably have a good bruise. One exciting thing that happened today is that I am pretty sure I lost my mucus plug which can mean that I am dilating more, and may be getting closer to labor! My next Dr. appointment is on thursday, and I will be 1 day overdue, once you are overdue they make you do a non stress test every time you are there, and you have to go 2x a week. I'm really hoping he decides to show up in the next few days because our friends are all going on vacation, and my dad has to fly my grandparents down to florida on the the 14th, and I don't want them all to miss the baby. I'm planning on spending the day with my mom and some friends tomorrow for a pamper me girls day to keep me distracted from the fact that it is my due date, and I have no baby yet. I think we are going to get pedicures ( which some people say can help put you into labor) which will be soooo relaxing, and very much needed with these swollen sausages I'm calling my legs and feet right now. Well I think thats it for now, I'm sure I will have more to update on thursday after my appointment. Here are my 40 week bump pictures...the shirt is the same one as my first bump pic at 13 weeks lol

Diaper Keg
Nick's Diaper keg was a huge success, even after some crazy drama the day before, and the day of. Friday I got a frantic call from Nick telling my that the location where we had been planning on having it decided that we needed some kind of extra insurance that was going to cost us $160 because we were going to have alcohol. Nick was really upset, and so was I because the person who owns the location is a friend, and the fact that he didn't try to find this out until the day before really sucked, but after some arguing back and forth, Nick's Parents offered to take care of it no matter what needed to happen ( even if it meant paying the money) But Nick's mom got ahold of our insurance guy, who figured out a way to do something through our insurance so that we wouldn't have to pay anything extra. Well the next day ( the day of the party) I get another panicked call from Nick saying that our friend is still refusing to let us have alcohol at the party, because his insurance guy told him that what we got was not good enough. Nick was PISSED! and so was I. We decided the only option was to move the party to a different location but considering it was 10 am, and the party was supposed to start at 3 pm, we didn't have to many options. We decided to have it at our house, but that meant cleaning up the house, and the garage. I freaked out, and started franticly cleaning even though I was supposed to be resting ( I've been on bed rest since tuesday). I vacuumed, dusted, cleaned the bathrooms, took out garbage, vacuumed dog hair off the couches, did dishes, cleaned the kitchen...I was running around like a mad women! Nick finally got home (I'm not quite sure what he had been doing that whole time, but I think he was just so mad he was driving around trying to cool off) and he started helping me clean. Dusty came over and helped us clean out the garage, and I picked up all the dog poop out of the back yard. Finally after hours of work, the house was ready for the party so Nick and Dusty went to get the keg, and all the food.
The Party went really well, the weather was beautiful, and everyone had a great time. We ended up getting a lot of diapers, and a few other cute gifts, Nick even got a package of Depends from one of his buddies lol. The party started at 3pm and the last few people didn't leave until around 10:30. Nick had a great time, and so did I!

Bed Rest...
Well at my appointment today my midwife Chery decided it was time for me to stop working. My legs have been getting more and more swollen, I keep getting headaches, and every time I go to the Doctors office my blood pressure is high. She thinks it's best for me to just stay home and relax until the baby gets here because high blood pressure is bad for not only me, but it can be very bad for the baby to. She instructed me to try and lay down as much as possible on my sides, not to go to work, or do things around the house, or go out shopping or running errands to much. That is going to be VERY hard for me. When I am at home I feel like I need to be getting things done, cleaning, organizing, running errands, etc, all the things she is telling me not to do. I also really don't like asking for help, from Nick, or from anyone, and I think if I want my house to be in some kind of order and at least kinda clean, I am going to HAVE to ask for help. Financially this is going to be very difficult also, we are going to have to make some cut backs somewhere because we didn't really have these extra weeks off work budgeted.
On the up side, I will really get a lot of rest, which I know will be something of the past once the baby gets here, so I should enjoy it while I can. Also a lot of my work clothes were getting very uncomfortable, so I was either wearing uncomfortable clothes all day, or wearing things I probably shouldn't be wearing to work. At least now I can just wear sweatpants all day! Nick seems farly calm about the whole thing, unfortunately when I stopped by his work to tell him he was already frustrated with their new computer system, so he was not in the best mood, but he took it pretty well, and just no when he got home from work he seems to be in a good mood. That is a relief because I was worried about how he would take it. He worries a lot about financial things, and so do I, but I try not to focus on them like he sometimes does. I'm hoping he just realizes that this is something we can't control, that it is best for the baby, and if we end up needing financial help that we have a lot of friends and family that will be there for us, and so far it looks like he does realize that.

VERY swollen, and ready to have an outside baby...
Everyday I wake up my feet, ankles, and now most of my leg is getting more and more swollen. When I move my feet around, or squat down I can feel how tight my skin is getting, and just looking at them you can tell. At my last appointment, I told my Midwife how my blood pressure had been high the day before, and showed her how swollen my ankles were, she decided to run more blood tests, so I will probably find out more at my appointment tomorrow. My midwife didn't seem to concerned, because my blood pressure was fine at my appointment, and there was no protein in my urine ( which are things they look for with preeclampsia) I am starting to get a little more concerned with this swelling though, even if I don't have pre-e, I don't think I should be this swollen....
...and this was a few days ago, they look even worse now, and like I said above it's not just my ankles and feet anymore, it's my WHOLE leg! Well I guess I will just talk to my midwife about it tomorrow.
My parents came over yesterday and helped with a few things around the house that Nick and I were working on. My dad helped Nick fix the bath tub that had been leaking and they did it in record time, so I put them to work installing the car seat and fixing my wobbly cubby shelf in the baby's room :) My mom and I organized and put away all the baby clothes that a couple of the patients in my office gave me, and she helped me carry a lot of garbage ( boxes and such from opening baby stuff) out to the garage. It was so nice to have some help and get a few more things checked off my list.
I am still having lots of contractions, just nothing time-able. Every time I get a new ache or pain in my back or belly, I think to myself..." I wonder if that is a real contraction, I wonder if this is the start of labor" and I wait for a similar pain in a few minutes, but it never comes :( I am very grateful to be pregnant, and to have been able to carry this baby to a healthy full term, but I am getting sooooo uncomfortable that I would really just love to get him out. Nick is really starting to get the idea that I am ready, and he has been slightly ( and I mean slightly) sympathetic, but he is really hoping I can hold off at least until after Saturday because we are have a diaper keg for him that day that he doesn't want to miss.
Well I think that's all for now, I will post more bump pictures on Wednesday!
